Panic attacks

Do you suffer from panic attacks?

Panic attacks usually consist of a clearly recognisable set of symptoms, but many people who suffer from them are unaware of what is wrong. They can be intensely frightening and disruptive of day to day life. The symptoms of a panic attack may include:

  • Palpitations
  • A feeling of losing control or impending doom
  • A tingling sensation in the hands
  • Sweating and shaking
  • A feeling of being unable to cope
  • Shortness of breath

How can hypnotherapy help?

Hypnotherapy has been shown by recent studies to be an effective treatment of panic attacks, and in many cases is more beneficial than traditional treatments such as medication. Desensitisation of the initial ‘trigger’ event using hypnotherapy ensures the problem is removed on a permanent basis.

Duration of treatment

This condition normally requires up to four sessions with recording support.

Do I need a GP referral?

It is recommended you see a GP to rule out other causes and to confirm the diagnoses of panic attacks. A referral is desirable, but not essential.
